I came back from Japan recently and I watched the new Adventures of Tintin movie... AND IT WAS AWESOME! It was my childhood and it was awesome! And I loved Haddock in it! I love you, Andy Serkis!|
Who here loves Tintin? I need to talk to other fans... also who has the comic books, and in which language? I have most of them in Japanese, and I also have the Nelvana animation in Japanese and in English.
Eeeeeeee I think I know who I'm gonna cosplay as next year!
...I thought I was the only Tintin fan here. *squee*
My father got me into it... I'm from a long line of fans! My grandfather loved it, and so did my great-grandfather. When I was about eleven my dad brought me my own Tintin comic, the Black Island, in Japanese... I'll always treasure that one!
That's awesome! :D I got into it through watching the cartoon on Nickelodeon. That made me want to check out the comics and the history behind the character.
Not from Nickelodeon, but my dad recorded episodes on VHS and that's what I watched as a little girl. Tintin is what helped me learn to mentally translate something from English to Japanese and vice versa.
Oh, wow, that's pretty amazing!
OMG OMG that movie was so kawaii!!! Haddock/Tintin forever, and best of all no nasty icky bitches to get in the way! ^_^
WHAT. It's Tintin/Haddock! Haddock might be the big, burly guy, but Tintin's got the balls, the drive, the courage!
NO! *stamps foot* Tintin is kawaii and little and delicate and Haddock is a big strong manly man!!
Little? Yeah. Cute? Yeah. Delicate? Have you even payed attention to the movie or read the comics? Tintin's tough as nails! And Haddock- when Tintin meets him, he's a pitiful mess of a drunkard who only gets better with Tintin in his life! Hell, Tintin gets pissed off at him in Explorers of the Moon when Haddock tried to leave the moon rocket to reach Earth!
Oh, Tintin! I still have my father's old Tintin books, maybe I should go search for them...
Woah, how old are they? I have the original comic of The Crab with the Golden Claws, in black and white and in French... It belonged to my great-grandfather!
HOLY CRAP CHAST I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOU have you heard of the BBC radio plays?
...THERE ARE RADIO PLAYS?!
And yay for Tintin in a kilt!
Oh, hell yeah. I think you'll love Tintin's voice.
YES TINTIN IN A KILT. Especially in the Nelvana animation. LEGS. HE HAS THEM.
